Case Study
Shaderunner® Installation Lambton
The client required flexible, on-demand shade over their swimming pool in New Lambton, near Newcastle. It was important for them that the shade could be retracted, so a permanent fixture like a shade sail wasn't going to be suitable.
We decided on a Shaderunner® retractable shade system to meet all the criteria. It provides the ability to completely cover a large proportion of the pool completely on hot summer days, or provide partial shade coverage if they want only a smaller section of the pool covered.
A 6 metre wide by 9 metre long Shaderunner® awning was installed.
The fabric is Outlook Mode shademesh and we used marine grade stainless steel fittings.
We worked with the owner to install 3m high posts as part of his pool renovation.
The awning was supported on 4 x 125mm x 125mm x 5mm square hollow section posts with a hot dipped galvanised finish.
2 posts were installed on either side of the swimming pool (2 in the current planter box, 2 in the lawn). Two wire rope cables were installed between these posts to support the Shaderunner awning.
The awning is manually operated and provides significant shade the the pool area.
